"Restitution" is about an upper class family, set in a near future Atlanta where human cloning has become a part of the standard medical-industrial complex. There are cloning offices with doctors and nurses, just as there are dentists, heart specialists and urologist offices. The technology, however, is still quite controversial and the clones person's rights have not been legally defined. Our story begins with Preston Sanders, an architect and city planner, who is surprised to learn that his son has been cloned by his wife, Susan, who is grieved by the recent loss of their oldest child.
